Downtown Buenos Aires is the city’s beating heart, where everything moves a little faster. It’s Buenos Aires at its most vibrant: office buildings, historic cafés, theaters, and bookstores share the streets with busy buses, wide avenues, and the iconic Obelisk standing at the center of it all.

Getting Oriented

There are seven major avenues you’ll quickly get to know if you’re staying Downtown:

Santa Fe Avenue

Córdoba Avenue

Corrientes Avenue

Avenida de Mayo

And the city’s three most important crossroads:

Callao Avenue
Paseo Colón Avenue
9 de Julio Avenue

For the purposes of this guide, we’ll consider the Obelisk (Buenos Aires’ most iconic landmark) to be the heart of Downtown. From there, we’ll show you exactly how to get to our school.

If the weather is nice and you’re in the mood for a walk or a bike ride, this is by far the best way to get here, we’re really close! The walk from the Obelisk takes about 10 minutes (850 m) and is a pleasant way to experience the city. If you’re cycling, you’ll be here in just a few minutes.

• You can take Line C (blue). Our closest station is Av. de Mayo, just two blocks from the school.
• You can buy a SUBE card and top it up at any subway station.
• You can also pay for your ride with a contactless bank card or a device using Google Pay or Apple Pay. Both payment methods require NFC.
• The subway trip from the heart of Downtown to our school takes approximately 10 minutes.
• Approximate distance: less than 1 km.

• Several bus lines connect Downtown with our school, including 17, 67, 70, 100, 39, 59, and 10, among others.
• The closest bus stops are located along 9 de Julio Avenue.
• All buses accept the SUBE card. While not every bus is equipped with it yet, many also support NFC payments using contactless bank cards or digital wallets.
• To find the best bus route, check schedules, and see real-time arrival information, we recommend using Google Maps and the free Cuándo Subo app, available for both Android and iOS.

• If you’re coming by car, the easiest route is via 9 de Julio Avenue.
• Keep in mind that driving isn’t always the fastest option. Unless there’s a disruption to the service, the subway is usually the quickest way to get to our school.
