Once a month, we have a very special tradition at Porteñísima: our monthly get-together. All of our students look forward to it because, without a doubt, it’s the best day of the month.🙂
The goal is always the same: to get together outside the classroom, spend time in a relaxed atmosphere, get to know one another better, and enjoy speaking Spanish in a real-life, fun setting.
Our monthly get-togethers are a great opportunity for students of different levels and nationalities to meet, share their travel experiences, exchange recommendations about the city, and, above all, keep practicing Spanish in a spontaneous and natural way.

We love that these gatherings also create a real sense of community. There’s always something delicious to eat, drinks to try, and plenty of conversations flowing in a mix of accents. The idea is for everyone to feel like they belong, whether they’re in Buenos Aires for a few days, a few weeks, several months, or already call the city home.

Every get-together is different. Depending on the time of year, the weather, or what’s happening on Buenos Aires’ cultural calendar, we change both the location and the plan. Sometimes we organize a picnic in the park, other times a bike ride, a visit to an art exhibition, or even a concert. We’ve also hosted karaoke nights, open tango classes, walking tours through some of the city’s most iconic neighborhoods, and themed celebrations. What matters most isn’t the activity itself—it’s the spirit behind it: spending time together, having fun, and practicing Spanish along the way.

The date of each monthly get-together is announced well in advance so no one has to miss it. All current students are invited, as well as members of the Porteñísima community, including those who aren’t taking classes at the moment.

Whenever a beloved former student comes back to visit or is about to leave Buenos Aires, we often take the opportunity to organize a special get-together to welcome them back or wish them farewell. These moments remind us of what we’ve always wanted Porteñísima to be: much more than just a language school. It’s a vibrant community, built by people who connect through Spanish, culture, and the joy of sharing experiences together.
